What it takes

So this weekend I had a two hour trainer ride that I was NOT looking forward to. I mean two hours on the trainer feels like about like 4. So to get myself motivated I went to REI and used my dividend to get the video What It Takes. Basically the video is a documentary that follows four professional triathletes over the course of a season leading up to the 2005 IM World Championship. It was a great way to pass 96 minutes of the ride. I recommend it to anyone that finds triathlon interesting. I wished the video went into more detail on their actual training, but the intended audience is the general public. Overall it’s really interesting and enjoyable. In one part of the movie they show Peter Reid riding up Mt. Lemmon in AZ. G and I are heading there at the end of April so it got me totally psyched for that trip. Other weekend highlights were a 1:20 minute run, a solid swim workout, and some Yoga.

Outside of training this weekend was the UNC win over Duke, and Drake continuing to roll. We went to Anodyne for brunch on Sunday and also hit up Menard's. We are almost ready to start the kitchen remodel. When we came home from brunch we picked up Louie so we could get to the dog park for some socializing and exercise. We came to the front door and started ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door. With all the commotion we thought for sure he would come to see what was up. After about 30 seconds we opened the door and still no Louie. We had to call out his name to actually get him to come. Needless to say he is not a watch dog. While at the dog park we met a lady who had a Golden Doodle puppy, holy crap what an awesome looking dog.
I mean look at that face, how could you not love that dog. The best part is that they don’t shed.

i have a friend who got a goldendoodle.

i can't stand it. it's the size of a small pony, but you can't ride it and it's definitely not as cute. it gets water and food all in its beard and hair. it has the energy of a 10 year old boy who just had 3 mountain dews and a snickers.

the only thing i do like about it is it knows i don't like it, so it steers clear of me. i have only had to pet it once!

please don't tell me you already came home with one and you love it and now hate me...

we dont have a new puppy. we have been trying to decide on a goldendoodle and a boxer. we have a 3 year old golden, so i can realte to the idea of a dog with high energy levels. the good thing is that Louie, our golden, like to run. so that helps get rid of some of the extra energy. the hairballs he leaves around the house though......ughh

ok well that makes sense. maybe if you get a goldendoodle, beware of the huge ones, which i guess are a mix between standard poodles and nice big goldens? (which are cute and nice and great) plus my friend lives in a little sf apartment, which makes a huge goldendoodle seem a bit ridiculous, whereas a reuglar house and yard would work fine! also why couldn't they name the breed something better than essentially "golden piece of poo"? what's wrong with "poodle retriever"?

boxers are cute too. all in all i am a dog fan.
