Hey Timmer....

....and the rest of you TT speed freaks. Maybe some run and swim training would be worth the effort? Could be a pretty rewarding $$ challenge.

Enter 5 of the races he is in, beat his splits on the bike, have a run time within 25% of the winners time, and you get some cold hard cash. Use the link above to get to the Gear West Website for more details. Looks like its really geared toward pro triathletes, so most of us will have to shoot for Ninja Primes at the State Fair Crits.

Not so sure

I agree with this. Maybe they will end up trading Brady to someone for draft picks. Who know what they'll end up doing. Picking up Corey Williams would be a great addition to the defense which struggled a lot last year.

Hump Day

So the last two days I’ve been traveling for work. Both days were quick trips within the state, but long enough where I was out of the office the entire day. It definitely made the week go by quickly. Today I was in Cloquet at the Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College. Some student interns are working on a project that I’m heading up right now. It’s always fun to be around campuses, even if this one is super tiny. I saw one of the kids biology books and it was the same one I used for my bio classes back in the day. Of course it was an updated edition. I asked where the book store was cause I was thinking about getting a new copy for myself. They were like “Why would you want to buy a textbook?” I told them that I thought it was a great textbook, and the biology book that I have at home was a little light on the science. Yes I do pick it up and read a chapter every once in a while. I do it with almost all of my old textbooks. I think it’s good to keep up on that stuff. I mean you not only have to read the cutting edge stuff you get from the journals, but the fundamentals need some spring cleaning every now and then. Anyway, I had been thinking about getting a used copy of the Reece and Campbell book for a while, so I walked down to the bookstore to see how much it was. Wow, it brought back all the terrible memories of how much books were back in the day. A new copy of the book was $155. I decided to pass. I just now looked online and saw some used copies floating around for under $70. Still not sure I wanna jump on it. I always think about the day that we have kids and if they ask me how something works I want to be able to provide them with a great answer, or sit with them and look it up together. I asked tons of questions when I was younger. If our kids are anything like G and I we are in for a lot of Why, Mommie, Why Daddy? Besides that, I like reading textbooks.

And we’re back…

So I was out of commission for a long haul with a major cold. Sever sore throat, sinus headaches, fever, mucus, and even lost my voice. After taking several days off work and exercise I’m back in business. This weekend was a great time to finally come around. Saturday morning I got up and cleaned the house and drank a lot of espresso. After the rest of the house got moving we took Louie to the dog park at the airport. Man, there were tons of people out enjoying the great weather. It’s crazy how warm 30 degrees felt. After the dog park we headed towards Freewheel to try on the fit kit for the new order from Twin Six. While I was there I also finally picked up some fenders for my commuter.

From Freewheel we headed to the Triple Rock for some brunch. I had the Mother Biker with jalapeños and two Surly Benders. It was tits. I was planning on heading out on a ride with T3 after brunch, but G had some money burning a hole in her pocket. She just won the employee of the year award with her company, so the free money needed to be spent. Last year she put off a big purchase that she wanted to make, and we settled for some home improvement or another. Well this year was her year. After brunch we headed over to Scooterville and her dreams came true. She is the proud new owner of a black and silver Buddy 125. Here’s a stock photo from Genuine Scooters website. As soon as I get a photo with her on hers I’ll post it.

Monday...

Well, at least I've this drive to look forward to. Six hours with my co-workers, nniiccee! Iget back on Tuesday and then have to take off again on Wednesday for Western MN. Thursday my dad, brother in-law, and family friend get into town. We are heading to Lake Winni for some ice fishing and beer drinking. Needless to say I'm gonna get around the state this week.

I've been sick for the last 3 days. Hope I'm not contagious anymore. The worst thing about being sick though is that I missed the Mustache Ride. Steven and Ray have some good pics up. If I would have tried to be tough and make the ride I'm sure I would be in much worse shape right now.

Come On!

Preggers

So it seems like all of our friends are preggers. One couple just found out that they were having twins. I hope the dad doesnt have to deal with a situtation like this in the future.

I mean the Coors Lights Twins are healthy, happy, and successful. However, I bet growing up they took years off their dad's life expectancy.

Next Weekend is the Cat6 "Who wants a mustache ride?" Final details are being worked out, but what we do know can be found on the website. Here's a flyer from a few years back. It should be a great time.

Thursday Run - 45 minutes

I took Louie with me last night on my run. I had to stop three times to thaw out his paws. He recently got groomed and tehy cut all of the hair out between his toes. They are still a littel sensative in the cold. When we got home he was a great condidate for the frost off competition. All of his whiskers were covered with frost.
