Silent Movies

So this morning I was half asleep on the bus ride to work and I starting dreaming/thinking about something, that if possible, I think would be pretty fun. A while back after the video of the Mpls. bridge collapse, I think Smither’s pondered the question if there is anything that happens in life that does not somehow get recorded to video. I mean just about anywhere you look, there is a camera recording your every move. Plus some people even get actual airtime on local news and stuff if they happen to get interviewed on the street, or happen to be in the crowd at some large event. So I was thinking that if you could somehow get all of the video clips that you were in, you could put them together to make a silent movie. It could either tell the true story of your life, or some fictional representation. I mean you would probably have to add some stuff to fill some gaps or to bolden the fictional storyline you were telling, but the possibilities would be endless. The story and genre of movie would all depend on how you pieced the clips together. Then if others had access to the clips, they could edit the sequence and make alternate versions of "your life". I don’t know it could be kinda fun to see how differently things could be portrayed.

Unrelated comment: Sometimes the bus is a pretty awesome thing. I mean this morning I got on was super tired. I sat down, basically fell asleep, and the next thing you know I’m sitting at my desk in front of the computer. I love riding and driving in to work too, but sometimes sleeping your way to work is WAY better.

It would be really hard to get all those clips in real life, but I can see how someone could make a fictional movie and make it look as though it were spliced together from the backgrounds of tourists' photos and time-lapse security cameras. That would be a hell of a movie.
